Season of Giving: Virtual Service and Social Event
When: November 13th, 2024 7:00 pm-9:00 pm EST
The GSC Social Events Committee will be hosting our “Season of Giving” service/social event this year on November 13th from 7-9 PM EST! We will be hosting icebreakers, trivia, and group-based virtual volunteering activities throughout the event. If you’re interested in meeting other members of the Goldwater Scholars community, love trivia, and/or enjoy giving back to broader communities via online service activities (e.g., Freerice, Zooniverse), we’d love for you to join!

Gulf Coast Undergraduate Research Symposium
When: November 9-10th, 2024 @ Rice University
The Gulf Coast Undergraduate Research Symposium (GCURS) is an annual event that brings together undergraduate students from across the country to present their research in various scientific disciplines. Hosted by Rice University, the symposium provides students with the opportunity to share their work, engage with faculty and peers, and receive feedback in a supportive academic setting. Additionally, significant funding is available for travel, and no separate application is required. The symposium fosters collaboration, professional development, and exposure to advanced research in a wide range of fields.

This event is perfect for those applying to graduate programs, medical schools, or global fellowships (e.g., Fulbright, Rhodes, Churchill). It’s a great opportunity to receive on-demand feedback on your applications and network with experienced members of the Goldwater community.
